    Description

This really unusual fossil lobster is named Thalassina anomala. and is found near the Adelaide River, Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. Holocene age or about 8,000 years of age.
Fossils of Lobsters, crayfish, and shrimp are extremely rare due to the fragile nature of their shells. Usually the claws and tails are the parts found. These were fairly plentiful on the fossil market 20 plus years ago, but relatively rare today.
